Insert 2 fresh alkaline “AAA” batteries into the main unit first, then the remote unit next.
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium) batteries.

Slide off the battery compartment cover on the back of each unit. Be sure to insert the
batteries in the correct manner according to the polarity symbols indicated in the battery
compartment. After the batteries are installed in the main unit, “IN” will display the main
unit temperature. The “OUT” temperature will display “---” due to the remote unit not being

Once batteries are installed, the remote unit will transmit the wireless signal to the main

The main unit may be wall mounted using the built-in hanger, or it can be placed on a desk or
table using the fold-out stand. The remote sensor can be wall-mounted.

The remote unit is weather resistant. Keep out of direct sunlight and direct weather elements
to extend the life of the unit. Also, when selecting a location for the base unit, make sure it is
within 100 feet of the wireless remote sensor. The range may be affected by electronic
interference from devices such as televisions and computers. For the best results, keep both
units at least 10 feet away from any electrical equipment or devices that may cause electronic
interference.

Placement:

If the main unit displays “---” in the “OUT” display area for more than a few minutes:
• The batteries may be low in the wireless remote sensor unit.
• The wireless remote sensor unit may be out of range.
• Electronic devices or equipment may be causing interference- relocate both units.
• Both units may need to be reset to re-establish wireless communications.

If this problem persists, remove and replace the batteries on both units and place both
units in close proximity to each other for awhile. This may help re-establish communications
and avoid any electronic interference in the area.
